Darren Currie
I am Darren, now a Co-Opted Governor in my 3rd term with the Governing body. Previously, as a Parent Governor, both of my children successfully came through Crick School where they were happy, enjoyed coming to the school and excelled under the care of the whole school team. They are currently at Guilsborough Academy where one is in Year 8 and the other is studying his A-Levels.
Giving something back was my driver for becoming a Parent Governor. I wanted to be able to support the school by bringing my experience in industry into the governing body to support with decision making and to bring an outside in perspective. Running a school is very like running a business and all the same types decisions being needed and challenges to overcome.
A good team with good governance can help make the right calls helped by a wide cross section of the community with varied backgrounds. A real honour to be part of it all.
