FOCS, Friends of Crick School has been set up to raise funds to enable additional support to the school. The money is raised by organising events, activities, raffles, and anything we deem viable. Some of our events may be non profit making but essential for the enjoyment of the pupils, such as school discos.
The expenditure of the funds raised is determined by the FOCS committee after the school gives a list of preferred purchases. We are obviously open to suggestions from parents of how the money should be spent or how money could be raised. If you wish to make a suggestion please tell a committee member, place it in the FOCS box or come to one of our meetings. The meetings are normally held every 4 or 5 weeks on a Wednesday at 8’o clock in the Red Lion please check for confirmation.
We try to vary our events through out the year, and the most popular is the Safari Supper, where having met at the host’s house, you get informed where to go for your starters.
Once you have finished your first course, the address at which your main meal will be eaten is given to you. Once there you will meet your host and a new set of couples. Finally, you will taste your sweet at the third house, and again mix with different couples. Everyone then meets back at the host’s house for drinks. It is an excellent night and a good opportunity to meet other folk of the village. For the evening to work well, we require people to host and provide one of the courses. Go on … show off your talents to your neighbours and potential friends. Whether you are willing to host or just want a good night out, contact Viv or Kate.
Keep an eye on our enjoyable Forthcoming Events, normally listed on this web site, and at our post office.
