Here is a little timetable that might help you organise your day.  You don't have to use this but it is here if you want it.

 

I have now started to upload the work in Word, where I can, so you don't have to keep printing the work. Feel free to complete it in the document and send it back to me.  I have started to  add art work and other work sent to me on this page, so we can see what a fab job everyone  is doing. 

Thank you for all the lovely emails;  they really cheer me up.  Keep up the hard work everyone miss you all.  

 

Week 1 

Tuesday 17th March 

English- Can you write a newspaper report, for your cold task. This can be on anything you would like. You can email this to me. 

Maths - Converting mm, cm, m, km   Arithmetic

Topic- What can you find out about the climate zones of America?

 

Wednesday 18th March

Thursday 19th March

Friday 20th March 

English - Now that you have written your  diary entry,  I would like you to mark it using the ladder attached. If you have missed anything from the ladder can you edit it into your diary

Tuesday 24th March 

English - Newspaper comprehension  

Maths -  video to support your learning    Arithmetic      Perimeter

Topic -We are looking at comparing North and South America. I would like you to pick a country in North America and then one in South America and create a poster or PowerPoint to explain the similarities and differences between these countries. The DK website is a good place to start. 

 

Wednesday 25th March 

English - features of a newspaper- today we are going to be looking at the features of a newspaper. I want you to look at the one that already has its features identified and then look at the other newspapers attached and see if you can highlight the features. just like we would do in a normal English lesson. Science - our Science this half term is electrical circuits. We have already had a go at using the components to make  circuits using :bulbs, switches motors and more. Friday 27th March 

English -For this session, I would like you to take the newspaper , attached here,  and box it up. Just like we do in a normal English lesson, take the parts of the newspaper and put them into the parts of the boxup.

Practice spellings for the week  

Topic - as we have got to the end of our Amazing Americas topic, I would like us to make a link with our Plot, Plague and Parliament topic. As  you may remember we looked at the English Civil War. Well you may or may not know that America had its own Civil war. This week I would like you to create a double page spread, like we do in class, and see what you can find out about the American Civil War. I have attached 2 files to help you, but if you have your parents permission you may want to search the Internet for information.  Be safe searching the Internet please!  please sent me pictures or documents of what you have done as I'd love to upload them onto the website.

Maths Video   volume using cubes 

English -building on what we have done last week, I would like you to box up your own newspaper. I woud like it written on a fairy tale that you know well i.e. Goldilocks, Three Little Pigs, Elves and the Shoe Maker.  Use the attached box up  to plan your newspaper. We will be writing the newspaper tomorrow.

Science- This week we would be taking part in an investigation with the circuits. Obviously we can't do this. So a change is needed. I would like you to explore the DK findout Website to see what you can find out about batteries, circuits and more. DK website. You can record your findings in a poster  or a PowerPoint presentation. There is a also a good quiz on there too. Again send me pictures and I can upload them onto the website.

English - Today and tomorrow, I would like you to write your newspaper on your chosen fairy tale. Remember to use your boxup to help you. I have attached a blank newspaper template, which you can either type into or print off.

RE - As Easter  Sunday is on 12th April, I would like you to create an Easter Craft. This might be a card, decorated egg anything you like. Remember to send me a picture, so I can  share it online.
