Crick Primary School

Science

Science plays an important part in all aspects of life today. At Crick Primary School, we feel that good scientific knowledge and understanding will prepare our pupils for adulthood. Science can further pupils’ natural curiosity and give them ways of working and thinking to explore and make sense of the world in which we live. Throughout the programmes of study, pupils will acquire and develop the key knowledge that has been identified within each unit and across each year group, as well as the application of scientific skills. We ensure that the working scientifically skills are built-on and developed throughout pupils’ time at this school, so that they can apply their knowledge of science when using equipment, conducting experiments, building arguments and explaining concepts. We want them to be resilient and continue to ask questions and be curious about their surroundings, whilst treating the living and non-living environment with respect and sensitivity.
