The OPAL Primary Programme Lunchtimes

Our vision is that every child in our school has an amazing hour of high-quality play every day at lunchtimes – with no exceptions. To help make this vision come true, we have signed up to the OPAL ( Outdoor Pay and Learning)  Primary Programme. OPAL is an award-winning, mentor supported school improvement programme that addresses all the areas that schools must plan for if they want to strategically and sustainably improve the quality of their play opportunities. We are having the support from a specialist OPAL mentor, who is helping us to embed play into the school’s policies and practices and establishes clear guiding principles and strategies for initiating lasting changes at playtimes.

Although we have only just started this journey, we are already seeing the positive impact.
